GameTrade Site Rules
We strongly recommend that you first read the
How Trading Works
and
How to Buy & Sell pages to gain an understanding of the overall GameTrade process before reading the specific site rules outlined below.
- Only legal original content for both games and manuals may be traded/sold on
GameTrade.com.au. Any member caught trading/selling or attempting to trade/sell illegal copies of
games will be immediately banned from the site with all of their outstanding trades
cancelled and all payments made forfeited to GameTrade. Any remaining GT Credits in
your account will not be refunded.
- All games must be designed for the PAL format and playable in a standard,
unaltered Australian game console.
- Any member has the right to accept, reject, or make a counter offer for any
offer (trade or cash) they receive from any other member.
- GT Credits are not refundable for cash.
- These rules are subject to change at the discretion of GameTrade at any time in
the future. If a change is necessary, GameTrade will announce the rule change in the
"Latest News" section, and if possible provide one week notice before the new rule takes
effect.
- Any member can offer any game or combination of 2 games to any other member
in exchange for any one of the other member's games.
- Any member may offer the same game or games to multiple other member on the
site at the same time. When one of the offers is accepted, any outstanding offers containing
that game or games will be automatcially cancelled by the system with those members affected notified
by email.
- Once a trade has been accepted, both members involved in the trade must pay
their trade processing fee within 48 hours or the trade will be cancelled.
If after 48 hours only one member has paid, the trade will be cancelled and
the member that made the payment will be refunded in full. GameTrade reserves
the right to extend the deadline of any trade based on individual
circumstances.
- A member has the right to cancel a trade any time before they pay the trade
processing fee. If one member has paid and the other member cancels the trade,
the member that has paid will be refunded in full. If a member needs to cancel
a trade after they have paid the trade processing fee, they will need to
contact GameTrade and explain the circumstances. GameTrade reserves the
right to not refund any fees paid by a member that later cancels a trade.
- Once the trade processing fee has been paid in full by both members in the
trade, the members will be notified by email that they can now send in their
game(s). The members then have seven (7) days to mail their game(s) to GameTrade.
If all the games in the trade are not received within seven days, the trade will
be cancelled. GameTrade reserves the right to extend the deadline
of any trade based on individual circumstances.
- Members must not send in their games until they receive notification
that the trade processing fee has been paid by both parties. Any games
received by GameTrade for a trade that has not been paid in full may be held
by GameTrade or returned to the sender with the member that sent the games
forfeiting their refund.
- Once all the games in a trade have been received, they will be visually checked by
GameTrade to verify that they are the correct games as represented in the trade
agreement and contain the original game manual if declared in the trade agreement.
If any discrepencies are found
between the games sent and the games described in the trade agreement, GameTrade
will contact the offending member and attempt to resolve the issue. If a resolution
is not possible, the trade will be cancelled, the games will be returned, and the
offending member will not be refunded.
- GameTrade assumes no responsibility for the behaviour of buyers and sellers
using the cash offer service.
- Except for the removal of foul language, GameTrade will not edit seller ratings,
buyer comments, or seller replies. Any member that uses foul language in a buyer comment
or seller reply will receive a warning from GameTrade. Further misuse will result in the
offending member being banned from the site.
- When contacting another GameTrade member via email, professional conduct is expected.
- Before giving a seller a BAD(-1) seller rating, GameTrade strongly encourages the buyer
to contact the seller and attempt to resolve the situation.
- All BAD(-1) ratings must be accompanied with an explanatory comment.
- Buyers and sellers should assume that the shipping cost is NOT INCLUDED in either
the listed "Sell Price" or the accepted cash offer amount.
