What is the Spread the Word Rewards Program?
GameTrade.com.au has grown at a frenetic pace since we launched in July 2003. Although we have done some
mainstream advertising, we realise that much of our membership growth has been a result of our members telling their
friends, family, co-workers, etc about our new service. Because we have benefited considerably from these
actions, we have decided to create a new program that rewards our members for spreading the word about GameTrade.com.au.
How does Spread the Word work?
It is quite simple. You just need to show us proof that you have helped to spread the word about GameTrade.com.au. Once we
see the proof, we will credit your account with your reward credits.
In the section below, we have offered several suggestions for how you can spread the word, but we are
also open to new ideas. If you have an idea for a unique way to advertise GameTrade.com.au in your
community, please send an email to spreadtheword@gametrade.com.au and we will work with you to
iron out the details and tell you how many GT Credits you can earn.
Spread the Word Methods
Link to GameTrade.com.au (Value: 2-5 GT Credits)
If you run a website, you can help GameTrade tremendously by adding a link to us from
your site. You must leave the the link on your site for at least 6 months.
Below you will find four options for linking to us with their associated reward values.
After you have added the link to your site, send an email to spreadtheword@gametrade.com.au
and tell us where to find your link. Once we verify it is there and linked properly, we will credit your account
with your new GT Credits!
Option 1: Text Link - Value: 2 GT Credits
Add a text link like:
GameTrade.com.au - Australia's #1 Used Video Game Marketplace
Option 2: Small Logo Link - Value: 2 GT Credits
Dimensions: 180 x 40 pixels
Add this image as a link:
Option 3: Large Logo Link - Value: 3 GT Credits
Dimensions: 237 x 55 pixels

Option 4: Banner Link - Value: 5 GT Credits
Dimensions: 468 x 60 pixels

Option 5: Create your Own GameTrade Image or Banner - Value: 10+ GT Credits
If you have a bit of artistic ability and think you can create a cool image or banner for us to use
in the Spread the Word program, give it a go. We don't guarantee that we will add it to the list of images above,
but if we do, we'll give you at least 10 GT Credits(perhaps more if it is REALLY cool). But even if
we don't officially add your design to the program, as long as you put the image/link on your site, we will reward you similar to the values given
in the options above based on the image dimensions.
Write an Article About GameTrade (Value: 10-50 GT Credits)
Does your school/church/university/community/club have a newsletter, newspaper, magazine or similar publication?
If you can get an article written about GameTrade in a publication
with a circulation of at least 100 readers, we will credit your account with 10 GT Credits per 100 readers
of the publication up to a maximum reward of 50 GT Credits. For example...
If your church has 200 members and you get an article in the church newsletter, you will
receive 20 credits! Or, if your school has 500 or more students, and you get an article in the school newspaper, you
will receive 50 credits!
The article doesn't need to be long. Just mention GameTrade.com.au with a few words about how it works.
If you need some background information for your article, check out the About
page or our original Press Release.
We would also be happy to answer specific questions via email and in many cases, even make a GameTrade staff
member available to be interviewed over the phone.
After your article is published, mail us a copy of the publication with the article and attach a note giving
us your GameTrade username. Once we receive the publication and verify the article,
we will credit your account. If your publication is available online, you can send us an email with a link,
or attach the pdf to the email. The GameTrade mailing address is:

Restrictions: Only one reward will be given per publication. If you work with a friend to get the article
published and the friend is also a GameTrade member, we will be happy to split the reward between you, but the total
will still be a maximum of 50 GT Credits. We reserve the right to reject any article submitted if the content
of the article is deemed inappropriate, or the authenticity of the publication or stated readership size is
suspect.
Get a Friend to Join AND Buy GT Credits (Value: 2-10 GT Credits)
If you get your friends to join GameTrade and they purchase some GT Credits, we will reward you with 20% of the
amount of credits your friend purchased! Or, if you're a bit slow at maths...

Here's how to claim your reward credits. After your friend purchases their credits, have them
send an email to rewards@gametrade.com.au
from the email address they gave when they registered with GameTrade.
In their email, have them tell us your username and how many credits they purchased. After we verify
their puchase, we will credit your account. Note, we will only give members one reward per member
they recruit regardless of how many times that member purchases credits.
