You can manually search for the game(s) you want using any one of the four search mechanisms provided by GameTrade: Game Title Search, Search by Genre, Advanced User Catalogue Search, and Advanced User Wishlist Search. However, once you become a member of GameTrade, you will gain access to the Trade Auto-Match engine that will do the work for you! Simply list your games in your Catalogue and the games you would like in your Wishlist. The trade auto-match will search the GameTrade User and Game databases and find any users that have what you want and want what you have! It's just like an internet dating site, but better… Much better!

Once a week, the Trade Auto-Match engine searches the entire database for any new Auto-Matches that have become available during the previous week (from new members joining or old members adding new games). If you have any new Auto-Matches available, you will be notified by email.

You can follow every step of your trade with GameTrade's detailed Trade Status page. The entire history of each trade is displayed along with an easy to use graphical representation of the trade process showing what step you are on and any deadlines that are approaching. During important phases of the trade process, GameTrade will notify you via email to let you know what you need to do.

Every time you make a trade with another member you can rest assured that the game you receive will be the game stated in your trade. This is because the GameTrade staff visually inspect every game in every trade to verify that it matches the trade details. If outlined in the trade that a manual is included with the game, the staff at GameTrade.com.au will also verify that it has been included with the game.

Along with the standard visual verification that we perform when we receive a game for trade, GameTrade.com.au also offers an additional "Console Check" service. If you choose to purchase this service with your trade, we will test the game you are receiving to make sure that it will load and start in a normal, unmodified console. This service protects you from the possibility that your trade partner's game is not an original. (See the GameTrade FAQ and Site Rules for the GameTrade policy on illegal game copies.)
